Jakob goes ballistic at the news, and spews some colourful language about her sleeping with the photographer and tells her to never come back. Cassie gets an audition of sorts and we assume she now will lead a life as a fully successful model. She is scouted down by the stranger who initially showed her the site, as she turns out to be a model. Soon though, Cassie gets her break in life. We then see him go into his creepy room with projections of her face all over the walls. Then during the only out of place moment in the episode, she tells him she loves him. She tells him after a casual night in a club with her roommate Maddie, that there were photos of her – from the ‘Oblivion’ site – on the walls of the club. When Jakob and Cassie are back home, they return to their normal (not at all normal) situation: Cassie is in her bedroom, with Jakob across the street trying to get photos of her. But in all honesty, if Jakob didn’t turn out to be a bit deranged, the story line had no business being where it was.īut luckily – he’s an obsessive stalker! Shock horror. Marcus warned him to not take pictures of these women. It’s not only the kids who are running from their pasts.ĭespite the calm nature of the episode so far, there is a moment between Jakob and Marcus that left me on edge. Thirdly, a painting of her mother is spotted, and when the inquisitive Jakob asks, she lets him know it’s the only one left, as her Dad burned all the others when she died. Many fans (including myself) have chosen to believe she is referencing the “EAT” text messages from series one. And she admits that she and her mother communicated via sending ‘messages’. That is debatable, but I feel it was definitely necessary that one of her parents take some blame for her past.Īlso during their beach adventure, Cassie confesses to Jakob that she used to starve herself. But he gets put in his place for “fucking her up” instead. However, here start the past references Marcus confessed to Jakob that he needed Cassie to take care of Reuben – just like she used to growing up. He is foggy and confused, like the old Cassie was. Whilst on her visit there is an obvious role reversal between Cassie and her Dad. ( Spoilers ahead!) The episode opened onto a beach house by the sea, and we got to see her and Jakob (oh yeah, he got to tag along for photo opportunities, creeper) find Reuben, and Marcus, her Dad (Neil Morrissey) running around the beach. So firstly, the story took us back to the past straight away. Not that I was determined to be one for pessimism, but thing were too darn creepy last time we saw her. But as predicted, it all exploded, and Cassies’ tears finally showed. Not only were there references from the past, and more things explained. On Monday, July 22, “Skins: Pure” concluded, and Hannah Murray did us proud.
